Job Description

Ellis Family Dentistry is searching for a skilled, professional, and experienced chairside Dental Assistant with the potential for excellence. At least 2 years experienced with advanced procedures preferred, but we are willing to train a fast learner that is reliable and eager to be accountable for new responsibilities.   Experience with extractions, fillings, dentures, partials, preferably CAD/CAM CEREC crowns, preferably implants (or at least not afraid of surgery), preferably occlusion/lab work, impressions, digital charting, as well as all aspects of general dentistry. Interested in a motivated self-starter who is eager to be a part of a fast paced and excellent team working chairside with an experienced dentist.  

Responsibilities

The Dental Assistant is responsible for assisting the dentist in clinical and administrative duties, including;

 

    • Clinical skill to assist a fast paced, thorough, and experienced dentist
    • Prepare patient for procedure or exam, complete accurate medical history, sterilize and disinfect instruments, set up instrument trays, prepare materials
    • Assist the doctor with all dental procedures, take directions from doctor, anticipate doctor’s needs, performing patient oral evaluations, take, develop and mount accurate and high-quality X-rays, various laboratory duties including provisional.
    • Maintain the highest level of confidentiality according to the HIPAA guidelines.  Adhere to safety guidelines/procedures to OSHA and practice standards.
    • Work with a positive attitude as part of a fast paced, high functioning clinical team.
    • Perform children's prophy's when needed
    • Assist with seating of patient's
    • Cleaning and sterilization
    • Organizing/Monitoring Lab Cases and Lab protocol
    • Entering accurate and detailed chart notes
    • Pay will be determined based on experience and has upward mobility with increased value to team

Qualifications

  • CPR Certification 
  • X-ray certification 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities. 
  • Proficient in dental procedures and instrument handling. 
  • Thorough understanding of infection control protocols and OSHA standards. 
  • A compassionate approach to patient care and comfort.
